Arthur Pants - 3 sessions
On trend barrel leg pants (a curved leg silhouette is sometimes called balloon or horseshoe) with a highwaist, lowered crotch, and roomy pockets. Choose a fly-front with an elasticated back waistband for a relaxed fit or a fully elasticated waist for even more comfort. This is not your first garment - you may choose a variety of seam finishes appropriate for your fabric type.
Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Level: Intermediate. You are confident behind a sewing machine, you've made other garments before but aren't confident about pants.
- We provide: the studio space, tools and expertise.
- You bring: A copy of the pattern (we can print your pattern!), coordinating thread for topstitching (this is important if you have strong feelings about visible stitching), 1 1/2" elastic for the waist band, a yard of mid-weight interfacing, and medium-weight woven fabrics in cotton, linen, or wool (twill, denim, chino, velvet...), all-purpose zipper, and a button. Allow extra fabric to match stripes or plaids.
- Class length: 3 hours each session. You may need to work between sessions to complete your pants by the end of the workshop.
Class meets on Tuesdays, July 7, 14, and 21 at 5:30 PM.
